The Journey So Far

My world in one picture.

A year ago today I married my soul mate.

A blink and we have been together 16 years.

I look at the children who now tower above me and feel so lucky to have every one of them.

Now let’s get on and create another chapter of our life.

Kilimanjaro

I never thought I would be that person, never thought I would loose someone so precious to me, Asten a wonderful daughter, amazing sister and loyal friend. After a serious car accident Asten was air lifted to hospital but devastatingly she lost the battle for her life later the same day.

This has completely shattered our lives, we have had to learn to live again and to deal with the huge unseen mental health issues.

Since Asten passed on 21st May 2017 I have had some of the most heartbreaking conversations with my 2 boys, ‘mum I am so scared when am I going to die?’ and ‘what’s the point if we are just going to die anyway’. And I have felt like a failure not being able to give them the answers they desire. And its thanks to the support of my family, friends and bereavement Councillor that I am getting through this unimaginable loss.

Showing the children that life can go on and it’s what you make of it, is one of the reasons why I am taking on the Kilimanjaro challenge for Child Bereavement UK. Secondly that others can have access to the support after such a loss and finally for me to show myself how strong I still am and I will continue to be.

So if you can please support every single penny will go towards helping a parent or sibling who has been bereaved of a son/daughter/brother/sister/mum/dad.

Mother’s Day

You see today has many mixed feelings for so many people.

Every mother and child has a unique relationship, some people no longer have their Mums, some Mums no longer have their children, some mums will never know their children, some people are trying to have children and the list goes on and on.

In our very commercialised world the shops want to sell us lots useless things to make money, don’t get me wrong some of the things are lovely but 90% is absolute rubbish that will get put in a draw after a month and sit there forever more.

Today I had breakfast made for me in bed, where we all sat together eating and chatting. A selection of flowers picked from the garden and brought to me in a vase. My son and I made my Mum a cake. I made afternoon tea for my Mum, my step Dad, the children and my husband. Mum and I went on a walk – the boys came along on their bikes. We watched the Grand Prix and laughed a lot.

THIS IS what matters doing things together making the memories to always cherish, because when we can longer have them we can look back and remember all the wonderful times we had together.

I am truly thankful at what I have and don’t take it for granted for one moment.

Sunday at the Farm

– Moments that they will never forget –

My boys had a great time with their Dad and Grandad today driving the tractor and mowing the orchards. I really cannot believe the two boys are now big enough to drive a Tractor.

I decided to spend my time cleaning and tidying my Dad’s house mainly because he never finds the time to give anything a proper deep clean. But also to give the four of them time together to learn from each other. It was so lovely to hear how much fun they were having together when they kept popping in and out the house to see how I was getting on!

Moments captured from 2018.

I am currently looking through my pictures from last year and printing some of my favourites. Pinning ideas of how to display them on @pinterest and loving remembering the moments.

Don’t let your pictures sit on your phone or camera- print them, display them and remember them. I love my @instaxhq printer it gives me photos in a few seconds.

14 years and counting

This young boy has travelled though this world with me for the last 14 years, there have been amazing highs and extreme lows. Through this he is growing into the most wonderful young man (currently the teenage rebellion is very entertaining). I love you with all my heart and soul forever and ever. Happy birthday my beautiful young man🎂 💕🎊 This picture was when a friend and I took Bryn to New York in February 2005. It was an amazing story that I will share at another time.
